Steven is the CEO of TakeLessons.com. He was influenced young as both his parents and grandparents were recording artists, cutting several gospel albums for Maramount Records.

On the business side, Cox was a founding employee and Sales Executive of a business-to-business internet marketplace for local merchants that went public in 1999 as the 4th highest performing stock of that year. He served as Vice President of Business Development at CollegeClub.com, one of the very first social networking sites and in 2000, the 38th largest site on the net with over 8 million unique monthly visitors. In these roles, Cox was responsible for strategic alliances, business development, sales management, and operational roles.

Cox also started Mobile Asset Group, a mobile data applications firm specializing in SMS delivery and has consulted on Internet Strategy with numerous large corporations including Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO), Club Med, and Sequenom Biotechnology (NASDAQ: SQNM).

Steven graduated with dual degrees in Investment Finance and Human Communications. As the lead singer for the San Diego-based band, Across the Room, Cox toured regionally throughout southern California and Arizona. The band released two indie albums - neither of them sold well (haha). But the band did make a lot of friends and had some great memories.

Cox is a member of the McKinsey's Online Executive Panel (http://www.mckinsey.com/), an invitation-only panel of America's business leaders across a wide range of industries. He also serves as a panelist for the CONNECT Springboard program, a San Diego-based organization that focuses on providing young entrepreneurs with feedback and recommendations for the refinement of their business plan, prepare them for angel or venture capital, and to help them identify next strategic steps to accomplish their goals.
