I love playing a lot of different instruments. Experiencing what kinds of sound you can create with your instrument. Its all about the sound. I will do my best to help you understand how to create wonderful sounds from whatever kind of percussion instrument you choose to play.
First off, music should be fun. I like to create a fun open atmosphere that is challenging intellectually. I will try to provide students with as much knowledge as possible to create the sound and type of music that they would like to play. We will do this by working on these building blocks for percussion:
Learning to read music
Learning to write music
Understanding rhythm
Coordination between different limbs
Proper technique for holding sticks
marimba, vibes, congas, Latin instruments, African instruments, small percussion, drum set
Percussion, Beginning Drum set, Beginning Piano, Music Theory, Music History
Students 1 to 99 years old.
