Cellist Ming-Hui is a doctoral music student at Boston University and has received degrees from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University (GPD, 07; MM, 05) and the Taipei National University of the Arts (BM, 03). Ming-Hui has built a reputation as a chamber musician, orchestral musician, and soloist of new compositions. In April 2007, Ming-Hui performed in UCLA’S Royce Hall as guest solo cellist for Hannolin’s Korean Culture Night ‘07 production of The Forgotten War.  Active in the performance of new music, Ming-Hui has appeared as a composition premiere soloist and a chamber musician throughout the past years performing Murray Gross’ solo piece Thinking of Lady Yang at Midnight and Chi-Hao Lee’s Cello Concerto.  She has also performed in events such as Samuel Burt & C.R. Kasprzyk’s east coast premiere concert project and Pamela Chen’s Spring Silk, co-worked with orchestral members of the Silk Road Project and coached by Bright Sheng. Ming-Hui was chosen to play in the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra/Peabody Symphony Orchestra side by side concert. She has also been the principal cellist of the Conducting Lab Orchestra of the Peabody Conservatory.  Ming-Hui's major teachers include Amit Peled, Chu-Chuan Liu, and Victor Shipiller. She has performed in solo master classes for Yo-Yo Ma, Richard Aaron, Yvan Chiffoleau and has been coached in chamber music master classes by the Tokyo Quartet, Peabody Trio, and the Audubon Quartet.
